Full-Time Faculty Pay

Salary minimums by rank (these apply to Tenure-Track, Clinical, Teaching, and Visiting Faculty):

  • Assistant Professors: $75,000

  • Associate Professors: $85,000

  • Professors: $100,000

Scheduled pay increases for returning faculty:

  • 9/1/25: 3% increase to base salary (by average in rank) and $1,000 increase to base salary

  • 9/1/26: 3% increase to base salary (by individual base salary) and $1,000 increase to base salary

  • 9/1/27: 3% increase to base salary (by individual base salary)

Pay increases upon promotion:

  • Promotion to Associate: $5,000

  • Promotion to Full: $7,500

Discretionary pay increases may be given to counter an external job offer or due to market conditions or compression. You may contact payroll@adelphi.edu if you aren't sure what your base salary is. The AAUP-AFT also maintains a public chart of anonymized salaries for informational purposes.

Overload: the first 3 credits per academic year of overload are paid at the senior adjunct rate, and additional credits of overload are paid at the regular adjunct rate.


Adjunct Pay

Pay is uniform for non-library adjuncts, with annual increases:

  • Beginning 9/1/25: $1,866/credit or $2,057 for Senior Adjuncts

  • Beginning 9/1/26: $1,937/credit or $2,135 for Senior Adjuncts

  • Beginning 9/1/27: $1,995/credit or $2,199 for Senior Adjuncts

Training: Adjunct faculty are paid $20/hour for attending mandatory training. If you think you may be missing a training payment, contact payroll@adelphi.edu and optionally CC a union rep.

CNPH Deductions for missing class: No deductions shall be made from the pay of any adjunct who misses class for the reasons set forth in the New York Paid Leave Act, or for other absences such as bereavement, or if the faculty member makes up the class or makes arrangements within the necessary guidelines/timelines as outlined in Article XIV, Section 5(e). In the case of clinical assignments only, all alternative arrangements must be approved by the Chair or Dean.


Pay Schedule

Faculty are paid twice per month, on the 15th and the last day of the month (or preceding business day).

Summer session payments: June 30 for Summer I, and August 15 for Summer II.

Intersession payments for adjunct faculty will be the last payment in February.
